Biographical Background
Shivratan Tiwari was born on 10 October 1966 in Gangwah, a village situated near the historic temple town of Khajuraho. He completed his foundational schooling in Khajuraho before pursuing higher academic studies in Indian historical traditions.
He earned his Master of Arts (M.A.) in History from Maharaja College, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
His published book biography states that he was selected as an official guide by the Government of India in 1996 based on his specialized knowledge of regional and medieval Indian history. He presents his monograph, Khajuraho: A History, drawing upon approximately 25 years of extensive on-ground guiding experience and primary site documentation.
